DEI Program Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced DEI Program Manager to help plan, execute, and manage various DEI strategic initiatives for DMI clients and the Alliance for Inclusive and Multicultural Marketing (AIMM) DEI Office. Reporting to the Head of DEI this newly created role will play a critical part in building and driving key business objectives in support of our DEI programs and goals across the marketing and advertising industry including but not limited to: Employee Resource Group (ERG)/Business Resources Group (BRG), Supplier Diversity, DEI Education, benchmarking branding, and communications. A significant part of the role will involve increasing understanding and awareness of diversity issues, inclusion and belonging topics, as well as support with Supplier Diversity and Employee Resource Groups/Business Resource Groups Network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a DEI subject matter expert in three or more dimensions of diversity (e.g.: Gender, Race, Ethnicity, LGBTQ+, Ableism/PwD, etc.)
  • Give perspectives, insights, and knowledge in a consultative manner to various stakeholders across the AIMM, DMI, and industry.
  • Develop and implement new programs with the ability to scale based on leading DEI best practices using project management principles.
  • Partner with AIMM members and industry leaders to build and produce solutions that deliver prospective diversity solutions or best practices for recruiting and retention
  • Assist in developing a long-term strategy to increase momentum, awareness and investment in DEI
  • Engages in the identification of diversity best practices and benchmarks as input to designing and implementing initiatives.
  • Set direction for and drive an industry ERG/BRG Consortium; focus on ERG Leader development and increase ERG collaboration.
  • Develop and maintain tools and resources that support effective DEI operations and collaboration
  • Monitor strategies to evaluate impact and potential ROI of all program and initiatives; develop reports on program effectiveness and make recommendations for program enhancement and improvement.
  • Curate diversity-related communications based on established calendar and societal events.
  • Source relevant speakers to address diversity-related topics and issues and prepare events.
  • Collaborate with external diversity partners to move forward AIMM Pledge, DEI programs through training offerings, webinars, workshops, research studies or other mechanism to capture best practices, trends and issues regarding DEI in the industry.
  • Assist with diversity analytics, including benchmarking, tracking metrics, analyzing and generating diversity reporting.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5-8 years of applicable experience in a DEI, HR or Program Management role or related subject matter field, experience in building and delivering DEI Programs
  • Proven ability to become a trusted advisor to business leaders and other influencers at all organizational levels and demonstrated a collaborative leadership style
  • Partner with and influencing C-Suite, DEI, HR, and business leaders to design and advance DEI strategy and desired outcomes
  • Capable of prioritizing and balancing multiple projects simultaneously, under tight time timelines
  • Solid project management skills, including agile/rapid project design and implementation, stakeholder management, and communications
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills. Comfortable with capturing and sharing stories/data/insights via various medium to large audiences in-person or virtual. Experience in public speaking is preferred.
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting data and translating analyses into recommendations
  • Manage external benchmark, research, and other industry-related surveys or associated metrics to demonstrate impact
  • Strong program management skills for team building, collaboration, change management, compliance/risk management abilities within large scale, multi-country, multi-dimensional organizational DEI efforts
  • Self-starter with the ability to identify problems and drive appropriate solutions
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), CANVA/Venngage, Adobe, CRM tools
