Job Summary:

Volvo Car USA Media Planning Specialist will be responsible for process implementation and compliance monitoring of Volvo’s Retail Advertising Program, in conjunction with the Marketing Team, Sales Regions, and Volvo Retailers. Key retailer program areas to manage include; advertising agreements, advertising spend confirmation, collection and distribution of eligible retailer supplemental advertising dollars on-invoice and VCUSA’s contribution, digital preferred advertising confirmations, brand advertising compliance, and price program policy advertising compliance.

The right candidate will exhibit excellent communication and organizational skills, and ability to build strong relationships with field, retailers, agencies, and internally with cross-functional teams.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibility will be the ongoing management, execution and processing of the published Tier 3 Volvo Retailer Advertising Program (“RTAP”), the programs marketing specialist.
  • Advertising program’s primary point of contact and subject matter expert for retailers and field.
  • Directly assist retailers, their agencies, field market managers, regional offices and internal stakeholders in the promotion, support and maintenance of a digital first, approved preferred provider-marketing plan, for retailer consumer-facing advertising.
  • Monitor retailer advertising brand compliance.
  • Monitor retailer advertised price program compliance.
  • Work with regions on review, notifications and tracking of retailer compliance to program letters.
  • Evaluate and provide guidance on effectiveness of program.
  • Also, assist with management and monitoring of Tier 2 Retailer Marketing Board (“RMB”) encompassing but not limited to sales forecasting, media & web performance executive summaries, and budgeting.
  • Additionally, support Media Planning Manager on the Tier 1 National Paid Search, Paid Social, Display, Programmatic, and 3rd Party Auto Endemic media optimizations and representation.
  • Participation in various regional status meetings, various agency sessions, to enhance the digital advertising approach across tiers, retailers, market areas, and national.
  • Analytics support to Tier 3 RTAP System, Tier 2 RMB Budget Flows, and National Media POs and Accruals.
  • Administrative support with Retailer Compliance Guidebooks, Playbooks, Tracking/ Letters, and SRM POs.

Key Competencies/Abilities:

  • Must have Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
  • Business, Marketing, or Advertising major preferred
  • 2+ years Marketing and/or Advertising Experience
  • Digital Advertising experience preferred, including Paid Search, Paid Social and Display/Video; as well as online retailing or e-commerce. Along with the understanding of preparing for the cookieless future in regards to audience creation; either through direct targeting or prospecting/conquesting.
  • Strong written and verbal communicator and presenter
  • Understanding of media planning, media buying, ad ops, agency coordination, billing reconciliation, and creative brand communication across various media channels.
  • Preferably an understanding of data and audience sharing from the National Sales Company to hundreds of local Franchisees within privacy compliance parameters to improve local Retailer advertising investments.
  • Demonstrated analytical & statistical skills, data driven decision making, and strong teamwork driving business results
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word
  • Proficiency in Liveramp, handling CRM data, DMP or CDP, Salesforce Marketing Cloud is a plus
  • Spanish and Portuguese language proficiency is a plus.
